If you went to start, control panel, device manager, then clicked on network, right clicked on the your network adapter you should see...
Left click Uninstall

After you login, the new hardware wizard will find your network adapter and install it for you. After the network adapter is installed, the click on the bars near the clock. You should see...
Click on Your_Network. Tell it to connect automatically, check the box. Then you should then see..
Enter your 13 character password here. Then choose Home Network
Have seen these kind of problems before, most likely to do with Windows but yet cannot be sure on a case to case basis, but the best and the simplest way to go about is to do a system restore to the date when everything was working fine (Before you uninstalled the device the first time). If that doesn't work, i am sorry if i missed this out but did you check BIOS ?
That's GREAT news. Who would think a virus program would block your connection.
Start, control panel, network and sharing center, manage wireless networks. Right click and remove all the wireless network and see if you network appears.

Hi Telson,
I checked it before. From some reason I was unable to reach any restore point earlier then the occurrence of this problem.
Even now I cannot find a restore point earlier then the last program installation.
I checked the BIOS and Wireless is enabled.
According to hardware check and device and drivers check - everything should work. Problem is it just doesn't.
All drivers are well, no problem with hardware, did all installations - but I cannot enable the device.
Thank you

Good news!
Problem solved and we know who's fault it is - Kaspersky anti-virus.
Apparently, if you install a new device after Kaspersky is installed - device won't work and it is necessary to repair Kaspersky.
Solution was found here:
social.technet.microsoft.com/.../0f180632-30ad-43f5-9ef7-d3b14eeca7b8
Now the only problem left is the wireless adapter still cannot find the home network.
All other networks in range do appear.
We'll solve that too.
Thanks again for your kind help.

edktpo,
Since this thread has been answered, the solution was Kaspersky AV, not AVG as you suggested.
