Problem with wireless network on DHCP

Hi,

I'm posting my message again as it got deleted. I have an E1505 which has an intel 3945ABG card. I am unable to connect to the wireless n/w if i use the automatic IP address option (DHCP). If I manually configured the IP addreess, then I can connect without a problem. Dont know why this happens? My router is configured to allow addresses (192.168.0.100 to 199) in DHCP server settings. I have tried connecting with and without security (WEP) also. This doesnt help either. Downloading the latest driver for my card and firmware update for the router also didnt help.

Two of my friends having the exact same config. of laptops (same wireless card) are able to connect without a problem to the same router!

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

You may want to try this. It may sound like an odd thing to try but it might work:
  1. First Remove all devices attached to your system
  2. Create a Restore Point (this is very important)
  3. Boot to Safe Mode (the one that says Safe Mode by itself)
  4. Open the device manager and under system look for Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
  5. Right click and uninstall. This will take a while and it will beep at you and ask you to reboot. Once it asks to reboot tell it yes.
  6. Once the system come back up just wait it will begin to load all the device drivers again. It will again boot and tell you that it must be restarted. Allow it to restart.
  7. Once back up try getting online again.

If you do this and you have problems you can restore to the restore point and all will be back the way it was.
