Problems due to Norton antivirus
Hello -
Someone please help. As usual, on I sitting on hold endlessly waiting for someone from Dell to help. On Tuesday I downloaded Norton Antivirus 2006. It disconnected my wireless internet connection, and I am unable to reset it. Has anyone encountered this? What do I do?

DrSmurf,
Did you download only Norton Anti Virus or did you download the Norton Internet Security program? If you downloaded Norton's Internet Security, it installed it's own firewall program. You might consider disabling just the firewall and using the Windows firewall.

Thanks. Yes, it was Norton Internet Security. How do I go about disabling the firewall, and will my computer be protected if I do so?

Go into Norton's security center and disable the firewall. Then, go to "start" "control panel" and "security center." You will see windows firewall at the bottom of the list. Click onto the firewall and set your security levels.
