Problems since upgrading Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection application

I have been having problems ever since upgrading my Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection to the latest version (R107434.EXE) available on Dell's website.  Before the upgrade my Intel PROSet software worked fine.  Since upgrading my PROSet application states that there are "No supported wireless adapters available in the system."  Something else I've noticed is that while everything appears OK in device manager (i.e. "This device is working properly."), when I double-click on the wireless adapter I get a message stating that the "Adapter state not found in the registry."

I am able to use Windows to manage my wireless connections, but would like to get the Intel PROSet application working correctly.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

what you can do is to uninstall the intel proset on your add and remove programs and then reinstall it again.

I had the same problem last night.  Ended up unistalling the Program through Control Panel.  Rebooted and reinstalled it from my Dimension Resource CD, that fixed it.

Thanks for all the replies.  I looked over my services and found 3 that were disabled:  WLANKEEPER, EVTENG, and Spectrum24 Event Monitor.  Once I enabled them and rebooted everything worked fine.

Just fyi but dell rarely offers the newest drivers (and when they do there's a large lag time).  You might want to get the package directly from www.intel.com  -- this was very important in the past when dell was offering the more buggy flavors of the version 9 drivers
