problems with wireless connecting automatically

I started with a netgear router, and everything worked fine.  I switched to a belkin because netgear would not give me technical support when I needed to reset it.  My belkin router works fine and has a strong signal, my problem is I have to connect to the wireless manually.  I click services, then wireless zero config, then start the program ( i have did the properties on this, and set it at automatic, but it wont stay).  After I start the wireless, I have to open my network connections, and click on properties, then click the wireless tab, and put a check in the box that says - allow windows to configure.  Why do I have to do this, it is driving me nuts.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

It makes it more difficult to help without knowing which make and model wireless network adapter you have.  Assuming it is either a Dell adpater or an Intel Adapter, it sounds like you need to open the Utility associated with whichever adapter you have and tell it not to be the utility that manages the wireless connections.

I have a Dell Wireless WLAN card and everything looks fine on it, and it show my little green tower when it is connected, it shows the strength that it is connected to my belkin wireless router even before i am actually able to connect to the internet.  Before when I had the netgear router, I just had to turn on my computer and it would automatically connect.  Now it looks like im connected, but have to go through the steps.  Why when I open my services and click on properties of the Wireless Zero Confirguration.  I have the start up type as automatic.  But I have to open my network connections click on properties, and the click on the wireless tab, (if I didn't start the zero configuration first the wireless tab doesn't show) then check the box that says use windows to configure my wireless zero config settings.  After I do that, its fine, but i have to do it every time.

Hey, looks like dell wireless Wlan utility is managing your wireless. First you have go to Program-> Dell Wireless - Dell wireless utility -> uncheck let this utility manage my wireless. Click apply, ok . then Enable Wireless Zero configration like you normally do. then go to the wireless adapter properties and remove all listings under the preffered networks. then connect. restart your system.you will be connected to the wireless automatically after that. hope tis helps.
