Have you tried changing the channel your wireless network is running on? When I setup my first wireless network I found I was having interference problems and moving to another radio channel resolved the issue. I couldn't find another network radiating at the time (okay, I live in the sticks, hence my icon) so I suspected it was probably a cordless phone problem. I haven't had a problem with my recent network upgrades, but I know the signal strength seems to be better on the newer router radios (and I still live in the sticks).

The following link has an interesting overview of wireless radio channels. Note some of it is Linksys specific.

The symptoms I was seeing matched what you are seeing now. Hope this helps.

You could try updating the latest driver for your wireless card and check on  the firewall of your system.but try updating the drivers first...
