Programs not connecting

Question

I just got a computer set up with a dell 2300 truemobile router. running windows xp. internet explorer is the only program that can axess the internet. all other programs like mozilla or aim say the connection was refused or there is no connection. made exceptions for these programs in windows firewall and then turned it off but the programs were still unable to connect.

Also Norton firewall is disabled.

In my experience I have noticed that AOL products and Microsoft are not always happy bedfellows. Any progress?

Nope this one's really got me stumped because I can't think of anything other than the norton firewall and the windows firewall that would cause all the other programs to not have internet connectivitiy

What kind of security do you run on the wireless access point? (WEP, stronger?)

What is the Dell computer you are using? What wireless card in the computer?

What do you learn from IPCONFIG /ALL

with optional >My.TXT to capture the resulting report in a file
