PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 encryption problem 162.198...
Hello!
I am experiensing problems when i try to connect to the network when the network is encrypted.
It works fine when I just configure an non encrypted network.
The PROset tells me I am connected but gives me only an internal 162.198.... IP-adresse.
Anyone? Please help!

Hello!
The hardware involved is PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 and 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11b Cable/DSL Gateway. Wired connections are working fine! And wireless connections without encryption is working fine, i think. Looking at the logs in the gateway it seems like the adapter is disconnecting and connecting pretty often. I was hoping wireless was easy :-))
It could be the firmware in the gateway.
Will get an answer to this tomorrow when i get an newer model of the gateway.
Any idea?

I was having the same issue you had. I recently installed a netgear wireless router and my intel 2100 just could not retrieve an IP from the network. I used CMD to release/renew the IP and nothing. I reset the router and cable modem and nothing. I thought it may have been a router issue so I configured it as much as I could and nothing. I also set my IP to a 192.168.x.x and it still would not accept it. I finally called tech support after troubleshooting using my own knowledge and they advised me to download the latest drivers for my wireless card and for the router. I did what they told me and nothing. My prevous router before the netgear worked fine and didn't have this problem. So after 2 days of tryin to fix my problem, I decided to return the router and try Belkin out for a change. And to my relieveness, the Belkin wireless router worked with no problems. Both my laptops connected along with my wired pcs.
If all goes wrong and no solution, try another router. Sometimes things just dont cooperate.
