I will change this old Netopia to one of my remote sites Linksys I guess. They don't need the features Linksys has ;-) But the Linksys had some bugs to as far as I remember :-(
As it seems, the Netopias problem is in the DNA... of the programmer of Netopias firmware.
Found out what those parameters mean, tried about 10 ways, none work, even worse, it keeps restarting each time it tries to balance the netload.
I am starting to turn into a superstitious grandma here in Ireland... before coming here I've never seen a non working or lagging D-link or Linksys... and I've seen many. It is a strange island...
QoS works great on just about any Linksys router. I have one of the original 4 port wired models (has to be pushing 4 years old now) and it works great.
have you considered software programs to limit upload? like netlimiter as example allows you to change upload/download ratios for any program using the interweb....
well, I know netlimiter, was using it couple of years ago but the thing is... I use torrent and shape my upload to 50% of DSLs speed but my housemates don't and they won't maybe allow to install Netlimiter :-)
Well, the same as in an office, you can't just hope on workers honesty, you need to filter porn :-)
