questions about wireless
I ordered a Inspiron 1525
intel core 2 duo T7250 (2.0 GHz)
Windows Vista Premium
4GB
250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card,for Insp 1525
I need to know what wireless router to buy?
Also in this equation, I currently have an Inspiron 5150
512 RAM
and will use a Linksys compact wireless - G USB ADAPTOR
Will the G adaptor and the N in my new computer work ok with WHAT ROUTER?
The salesperson recommended the Netgear WNR834B RangeMax Next Router but honestly the reviews are scaring me.
What is the best router for BOTH of my computers?
Someone please help me make this decision b/c I do not know. It's important that I be able to use the linksys router that I just paid $70 for. So if I have to buy a G router to make sure thsi is compatible, will my new computer be compatible for if I buy an N router, will they both work?
Thanks so much:smileyhappy:

Your wireless-N card should be backward compatible with any wireless G router. There is not sense in buying an N router, as the computers that only have G adpaters will still only be able to connect at G speeds. Please read the other messages I have posted today on wireless N devices.
For example see the following threads:

Steve, thanks so much for your advice. I went to Circuit City today and bought a linksys WRT54GS and had no trouble setting it up. Already had the Linksys wireless adaptor (for when I travel) and set up was a breeze. My new computer won't be here for another week or so. I guess I just go into the Advisor and set up another laptop; I can handle that.
Next I need to find out how to print wirelessly.
I really appreciate your help and your articles!!

As long as you can print thru a wired connection and the laptop/desktop can connect to the LAN thru a wireless connection, the process of "printing" is not different.
For example:
You install an HP1000 printer (and give it that share name) to machine1 on your LAN. This printer would be seen on the network (LAN) as
\\machine1\hp1000
Install a network printer on other machines using the above "references" as a guideline.
