Re: Can't Connect to wireless network

Can someone help.I have a Inspiron 6000,Dell 2350 Router,Dimension Desktop. My laptop was working wirelessly very good for 1yr plus. Now,I cannot either get and maintain a wireless connection or connect at all.No settings were changed. My network does show up in the avail network list.I have noticed that the wireless light on laptop is on or off regardless if I am connected or not.I checked antenna,it is on.The wireless card is Intel/Pro Wireless 2315.I checked router settings and they seem fine.Desktop (wired) is working fine. The Dell Network Asst is no help. How do I know if the wireless card is shot,or almost shot due to occasional connection,or something else is the problem.I need to get this straightened out and am out of ideas on what and how to do this.Anyone who can help me please do.
Thanks
Bluewaters

To help get this figured out can you do a few things please and post back the results.
  1. Turn off your DSL/Cable modem and your router for about 5 min. Turn on the DSL/Cable modem and let it come back to normal then turn on your router and wait for it to settle in then try again. If it does not work then do the following.
  2. Go to My Computer and right click and go to Manage. Once the window opens go to device manager and look on the left side and see if there are any !, ? or X that appear. If there are please report back what they say. If there are no !, ? or X go to the next step.
  3. Go to Start > Run and type in CMD. In the box that appears type IPCONFIG /ALL and report back the results.

This shows that your wireless is turned off. Please try to use FN+F2 to turn it back on. This toggles your wireless on and off. Then try the IPCONFIG /ALL again. If it shows and IPADDRESS then try and get online. If you don't see it then try this: go to START > CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS > NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Here you should see all of network connections. Look at the one that says wireless is there an X on it? If so, click on it one time then right click and choose enable. Then again try IPCONFIG /ALL.
