Re: wireless network connection no working ???

I am having the same problem Descendent17........I just formatted the c: drive and did a reinstall of windows XP Home Edition on my Inspiron 9100 laptop and all of the drivers, and I did install the Intel Mobile Chipset Drivers before the Network Broadcom Ethernet Device Driver and the Dell True Mobile 1300 Internal WLAN card and the Dell TrueMobile 1400 Internal Dual-band  WLAN card.  The laptop no longer picks up any connections......I have an Linksys WAP 11 access point attached to the Dell Dimension 4550 that used to work for the laptops wireless connection........I cannot pick up anything at all either....For the Network connections it reads under the Local Area Network (LAN) Ethernet (Broadcom 440x 10/100) that a network cable is unplugged and under the Wireless Network Connection that a Wireless Connection Unavailable........I have been trying to figure out what happened......as I have been searching through some different areas on the laptop I did see somewhere that in the media state for the networking stuff said the media is disconnected.....I don't know what this means.  When I check the hardware list it shows everything and says it's all working properly.......but it's not.

I sure hope someone can help us get this fixed.

Is your wireless radio turned on?  The Fn F2 key combination toggles it on and off if you have the Dell Quickset software installed.  Is your wireless network using WEP or WPA encryption?  Does it have SSID broadcast disabled?  If so, reset the router to its default settings until you are sure you can connect, then add the security settings back, one at a time, making sure you can still connect after each step.

Mine is a Inspiron 6000 with built in Intel Pro wireless card. I have Dell Quickset installed, still cannot get the card to life even with FnF2 combination.  Though I did not use wireless networking so far through the card but , seen the WiFi indicatior to come on and off life with FnF2 combination earlier.

What could be the problem?

I have checked the hardware profile throough device manager and found the card and its driver as reported OK.

Please help-
