Receiving too much data

Question

I'm maintaining a small office network, and noticed that the network traffic was skewed way in favor of data received vs data sent.   Looking around at the traffic patterns on individual computers, I have found several that are receiving 3-5 times more data than they are sending, though none of their programs are currently downloading any updates.   Any thoughts why this is happening, and what (if anything) to do about it?   Thanks in advance.

Have you checked those computers for viruses/spware/trojans?   Steve

Yes, from scans to going through the registry, no signs of anything that shouldn't be there.  Plus if computers were infected, I'd think that the outbound traffic would soar, not the inbound.

Do the users have Admin rights on their machines?  If os, they could have downloaded and installed programs for music downloading and p2P file sharing.

Nobody has admin access on their machines.
