Reformat can't find Internal Card
I have a Dell D600, no application/driver CD. I just reformatted w/XP and now can't see the internal wireless card. I tried to download drivers and install, but still no go. Device Manager doesn't recognize it, or I'm not seeing it. What do I need to do to get the system to recognize the internal wireless card.

After reinstalling Windows, did you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other device drivers. Once the chipset drivers are installed, did you try to install the drivers for other devices, like the wireless network card. You can download all drivers from the Dell support site. Assuming that your computer is a Latitude D-600, the drivers are at:

Hi,
Check in the BIOS if the wireless card is getting recognized. Follow the below steps to chk the same.
Start the computer -- At dell logo, tap F2 -- Once you are in BIOS, use Alt and P keys twice to get into Page 3 of 7 -- Make sure Minipci Device and Minipci Status says Wireless and Enabled respectively.
If not, load BIOS defaults. If still nogo, reseat the wireless mini pci card.

I tried the chipset driver for the Dimension 8100 but it refused to install because it was not written for Windows XP. If there is a different file that I should use, please let me know.
