You don't give us much information to go on.  What do you mean by "keeps crashing"?  Do you get any error messages?  If so, what is the full and exact text of the error messages?  Have you thoroughly checked your system for spyware and malware, the usual culprits when networking programs start to have trouble?

I doubt that it has anything to do with the hosts file.   Did this just suddenly start to occur?  If so, did you consider using System Restore to go back to a configuration that was working?

I will suddenly close out automatically. Yes I have ran every tool and online scanner I can think of. Would this be in the hosts file as ive heard? How would I find that?

This started I think about two weeks ago or maybe three and I had to redo my network b/c the power kept going out and the security setts were to high. Ever since then I cant do either. System restore wont work. Something with those 2 things. I think I can fix firefox and ra. They both might be corrupted i think b/c I installed over.

With the other post on Printers you have in the Win XP section, I suspect you are in for a complete "clean" install. You mention other issues beside the printer, in your printer post. Windows XP, if you have XP, sounds like it may be corrupted.

Umm duh it is. Cant do another install on it because the hd is just about dead. On mine I am heavily infected and on other as well and I'm still waiting on post at castlecops. Just heighned my security settings as high as they can go. I beleive I can fix msn and firefox but on the infections... I dont think so.

If things are this bad, no amount of cleaning is going to help. Download IE 7 and if you still have issues then a clean install would be your best bet and least time consuming.

Does anyone read the whole topic (all posts) anymore? i dont think so. Read reply 7 of 9. IE 7 is still unstable and not properly patched yet so I recommend not using it as a default browser. A clean install will harm the pc not help it. I know what I am doing.
