Replacement for Broadcom 440x NIC

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place or has been asked before, but I don't really have much time to spend... I am working currently on a friends compy until I can get a replacement for my netcard.

The sys info for my comp says that I am using a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller, but its not listed in parts list on Dell's site for replacements for my model comp... I even tried going to the Broadcom site but I couldn't find the part either...

Mine is fried... and pretty well done at that :smileysad:

Needless to say I can't very well get online without it so that's why I'm on my friends compy...

Does anyone know if I can still get this hardware and where... or do you know of any equivalent network cards that would be compatable with my system?

I'm running a Dell Dimension 2350 with WinXP Home SP1.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

The broadcom integrated controller cannot be replaced since it is integrated on the motherboard of your computer.  You can, however, install just about any PCI 10/100 ethernet network card.  You should be able to find one for less than $10 after rebate (sometimes even free) at places like CompUSA, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Circuit City, etc.
