Router connection issue - Network Cable Unplugged
I have a D-Link DI-624S wireless router. My PC (XPS400) running windows XP can't connect to the router using the CAT cable. I have an integrated Intel Pro/1000 PL card. The cable works/connects to the router with a laptop that is running windows 2000. I have two laptops that can both connect to the router wireless.
My PC can connect directly to the Cable Modem (Scientific Atlantic DPX2203) but when connect the cable to the router the network connection goes from Network Cable Unplugged to looking for a connection back to Network Cable Unplugged.
Here's what I've tried:
Uninstall Network Adapters, re-boot and let windows reinstall
run winsockxpfix
download latest drivers - did this before uninstalling the Network Adapters
update latest driver from downloaded drivers
Not sure what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the same thing occur on all of the LAN ports on the router?

I am using the same cable on the laptop and the laptop works fine. The light does not come on the router where the cable is plugged in.
Looks like it's an intermittent problem - I can get to the internet now but it's extremely slow. Outlook times out before it can pull down any email.
Any other suggestions?

I've used the same cable with my work laptop and it works.
The PC is now working normal. If I reboot and have the same problem then it's most likely the card?
