ROUTER CONNECTION PROBLEMS
I recently upgraded from dial-up to HSI through my phone company - Embarq. I also purchased a router (Netgear-54 Mbps Wireless Travel Router-WSR101). I have one Ethernet outlet on the back of my Dell tower and use that for the HSI modem. To connect the wireless router, it needs to be plugged into a Ethernet outlet. Is there some way to do this or am I out of luck in this?
This router was recommended by a Dell product purchase support representative and I was assured this would work with my Dell desktop system.
Can anyone help me with this?

I assume that you mean a Netgear WGR101. This is a travel router. It is not designed to connect a computer that requires an ethernet port to the internet. It is designed for locations where there is an ethernet source so that you can connect multiple computers to this source by wireless. If you need to connect multiple computers by both wired ethernet (up to 4 computers) and wireless (up to 250 computers), you need the normal wireless router - like the Netgear WGR614.
Alternatively, if you want to use the WGR101, you would need to purchase and install a wireless network adapter in your computer if there is not one already present.
