router needs daily reset1184

I found this problem described often here already, but no real solution:

I use a 1184 router to which an Inspiron 8500 and a Desktop are connected. My ISP is a subsidiary of german Telekom (1&1) which also provides the DSL-Modem. Both wireless and ethernet connections show "cant find Server" when I start up internet explorer. I either do have to make a reset on the 1184 (turn off/on) or run "my.router", change nothing but just "Save and restart". Both methods  then allow to browse normally afterwards. Strange thing is that the TrueMobile utility always shows a wrong status information "Cable/xDSL NOT Active". How is that?? How can I avoid the need to reset the router?

There was a firmware update for the 1184 - make sure you are at that level.

Dell also supplies this info:

You don´t mean the firmware version 2.12, do you? Thats kind of old (from feb. 03 I think) and of course I have it installed already. Any other ideas?

I experienced the same problems since day one with my 1184.  FInally contacted Dell and with some diagnostic help, they determined it had failed and sent a new one.  Continued lost signal in several parts of my home even with the replacement.  Purchased a Linksys with dual antennas and now my wireless is fantastic.  Think I will place the Truemobile on Ebay and get rid of it.
