Router password change
Hi everyone, been a long time since I visited the forum - and feel a complete idiot needing help with this, but can feel my spine liquifying already! I am changing my line rental provider to a new one with effect from mid May and they tell me I will need to change my password for the internet to work properly once the change is effected. I have a desktop upstairs and a laptop downstairs with a router next to the desktop, took a long time when we went to broadband to get things working properly but has been fine for about a year now. I don't have to enter a password to log on, just double click on the internet explorer icon or outlook express icon on the relevant screen and am connected automatically (this applies to both machines). I don't think I could stand the weeks of angst I went through before broadband worked properly so thought I'd try to get ahead here. How do I change the password in the router (once I get the new one) so that things still work as they do now? I typed numbers (started with 168. etc) into the address line to have a look see earlier, then 'admin' and a screen came up but there doesnt appear to be anywhere within that screen system where I put in the
old router password! It started my pulse racing in fear! Can anyone help me here? Thankyou very much - sheila
