router setting

How do i change my  router setting on my inspirion 1100

I'm not sure what you mean, but to change any router setting, you have to log onto the configuration utility on your router.  How you do that depends on which router you have.  Please explain what it is you are trying to do.

well i was having trouble accessing web pages so i was told to change the (mtu ?) setting on router to 1400.

On most routers you get into the configuration utility by opening Internet Explorer on your computer and typing the router's IP address into the address bar.  Since you still haven't said which router you have, I can't provide any more detail than that.

That is a router that I have never seen.  It looks like you'l have to get out the User's Guide and read it.  As for the encoding question - post that on the Software - Windows XP as it is not a networking question.

i have a ipv6rt router if that helps, as do have any idea on how to change encoding setting for web pages to keep it a western european (window)
