Routers! Need Help!

Question

Hi! I recently got a router and I've been trying to hook it up for the past couple days. I have a cable modem and I turn the power off that and off the router and then i hook the router up to the computer then the cable modem to the router and then power everything up. I get the correct amount of lights lit up on both but I cannot get an internet connection. I've tried changing my ISPs but that has been unsuccessful. My computer tells me I'm connected to the network but I'm not getting any internet service. Any help?   Thanks!

With the computer connected to the router, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all. Copy the output of this command into a reply to this message. With that information we can perhaps start to help.

So I got my desktop connected and everything but how do I get my laptops onto my wireless network?

Thanks! I actually called my internet provider today and she helped me connect and I'm currently back online! Thanks for your help though!
