safe mode and internet
I am trying to restore something by downloading it in safe mode, but when I try to access Internet Explorer, I get "page cannot be displayed" message. What am I doing wrong?

Did you boot to Safe Mode with Networking Support?

When you press the F8 key just before Windows starts to load, a menu comes up giving you a choice of what you want to do. One choice is Normal mode, one is Safe Mode, and one is Safe Mode with Networking Support (or something like that), among other choices.
