Do you mean something like Dell Axim / Treo 650 / Treo 700w ?

Do you mean notebook computer (connected through mobile phone)?

If the laptop did not come with an interanl wireless card, you can purchase a wireless adapter that fits in the PCMCIA slot on the side.  Around $40 US.

Tutorial is below:

It does have the wireless card and she uses it where there is a router near by, not the problem. If I understand it correctly you can get satalite service or phone patch for the areas where you cant hookup otherwise, please advise.  Thanks

The only satellite broadband is for residential use and you can get a dialup account if your DSL provider has one to offer while you trable.  the easiet thing to do is stay at hotels that offer free service and search for coffee shops and the like for free service.

My spouse (a pastor) just got service by Verizon, EVDO, with unlimited data (and text) and the Treo 650 because she uses a Macintosh.

The Treo 700w (Pocket Windows, WM 5 ) works with Windows XP and also provides unlimited data and text. Would anything like that fit her need? The 700w includes (a small) VGA screen!

Thanks I will call Verizon and see what they have. The problem is she goes to private homes and needs this to show the clients info and a lot of them don't have any hookups available or even understand today's techknowlegy. I really thought there was a phone patch of some sort so she could get on line from these areas, guess I was wrong. Again Thanks for you replies.  Tom in California

With a tool like Microsoft FrontPage, it may be possible to download entire websites (a copy) so that when not connected the person would have access to the entire set of information. Of course once changes were made to the site itself, this information would not longer be up to date. There may be alternative ways of obtaining the desired end.

Not sure, don't think so but??? She uses the large screen of the Inspiron so the customers can directly see there options as well as different options available (insurance). It sounds like short of caring around a dish there's nothing out there. I've seen something on TV about satellite availability for laptops, humm. I would Dell would have something.
