my personal favorite router isn't made anymore (and I haven't used most of the current ones).  any basic cheap wireless router these days (even the $20 ones) should support WPA (and maybe even WPA2) just fine.  your client cards will also need WPA (or WPA2) support.

as far as I can tell, this router only supports 128bit WEP encyption.  this is not considered secure by today's standards (can be broken in a matter of minutes because of flaws).  it will keep most neighbors out, however.

here's dlink's instructions:

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1055&question=DI-614+%20/%20DI-524_revD%20/%20DI-524_revE%20/%20DI-624%20/%20DI-614+_revB%20/%20DI-624_revC%20/%20DI-624S%20/%20DI-774%20/%20DI-774_revB%20/%20DI-514%20/%20DI-514_revC%20/%20DI-784

everything said though, it's time to upgrade your hardware.  look for something that supports WPA2

shop around.  that's what's key.  most cheap routers (less than $75 let's say) will perform acceptably well (though not rock solidly or perfectly).

here's a dlink router that's relatively cheap: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10362363&adid=17662

it has several different hardware revisions out at the moment.  all will support WPA.  some will support WPA2 (luck of the draw I suppose).
