Sending & Receiving Faxes

I am not sure if this is the correct board to use but I am desperate now.

I am trying to set up my system to send and receive faxes.

I have broadband but not an internal modem on my pc.

Can anyone tell me how I need to configure my pc so that I can send and receive faxes.

I have used the All in one printer option etc and get as far as sending and then get a warning message that the connection port is not available.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated

Since FAX is a telephone line based protocol, you need to have a modem installed in your computer to send/receive fax's from your computer.

You mention 'All-in-one'. Do you have one of those All-in-one printer/scanner/fax machines, or was this some other software option you were trying to run?

There are some internet web-based fax services that you can use to indirectly send/receive fax's. I have no specific links, do a web search on 'Fax services'.
