Setting up a home network

I have 3 children and each of them have computers in their bedrooms, as do I. I want to create a home network so that, among other reasons, I can monitor their actions on the computer and on the Internet. I am not a big fan of cables, so I want a wireless network. I also want to be able to access my work stuff from my home office. I don't want there to be a "main computer," I just want all of them to be connected.

Oh, and I also have a laptop with a wireless Internet card, which I want to be part of the network, too.

How/Can I get this done?

the hardest part is going to be monitoring their actions over the network.  did you have any ideas on this?
