Setting up Linksys WAP54G access point - having problems
It seems like every time I set up a Linksys product I have problems (more than likely due to my own errors)... Anyhow, I'm trying to set up a WAP54G access point to be used as a wireless repeater for use with a WRT54G router.
I have followed the Linksys instructions for using the CD for setup... Basically, I have the setup CD on my laptop, which is connected with an ethernet cable to the router, and the access point is also connected to the router. Once this process is done, I am having problems logging into the access point's web-based config utility at 192.168.1.245. This is a dumb question, but how should I have the ethernet cables configured when trying to access 192.168.1.245? Should I have the laptop directly connected to the access point, or should I leave the current ethernet cable configuration with the laptop connected to the router and the access point also connected to the router? Right now I can't log in to the web-based config utility either way... and obviously I need to in order to set up the wireless repeater features.
If anyone has a WAP54G and can lend a hand I'd appreciate it...... Also I'm curious to see if anyone is using the WAP54G as a repeater and how it's working out. Thanks.
