Does the Dimension have a folder called "Shared Documents" and if not, which folder do you wish to share on it?
Either go to or create that folder, then RIGHT-click and either in Properties or directly in 'Sharing' say that you want to create this as a Share. You can make the share name be anything you want, not necessarily the actual name of the folder itself. Then click on the 'Security' tab to provide information about Permissions (under NTFS). Once you get this set up and then do a re-boot, I would go to the other computer(s) and make sure both the computer and the subordinant share name show up / appear. If this part works, then I would live with that and be happy rather than trying to make the share also work to the opposite system. With one share set up, one can either pull into push into or pull out of it to either the same or the other system.
Thanks for the reply. I do know how to share folders, having done this while having the 2 computers connected by a special parallel port cable. However, with the wireless laptop,I was trying to set up a network to do this and was not sure if it could be done without SP 2.
