Setup Printing

is your printer stand-alone now, or connected to another computer?

connected to another computer:

1. find the IP of the computer
2. share the printer Click for more information
3. on the laptop type '\\
4. a list of shared resources will be listed.  double click on the name of the printer from step 2

It may be necessary to add a username to the desktop that is equal to the username on the laptop

stand-alone printer:

there are Wireless USB Print servers out on the market.  these print servers will allow you to convert your USB printer to a wireless signal which will assign an IP Address to the printer.  Once the printer has an IP Address, it's as simple as installing a network printer on your wireless laptop.
