SFLOW on PowerConnect
I have heard and seen that Dell is coming out with SFlow for their PowerConnect 6200 series switches. Does anyone know if they are planning to bring the same thing to the 3500 series switches. SFlows provide a great amount of information to a network analizer.
Also has anyone heard when the new firmware is coming out for the 6200 series switch? I know the last version did not last to long out there.

I spoke to my sales rep about this, as I was curious as well.
He put me in touch with someone from the networking group, who said that the 6200 series firmware with SFlow is scheduled to be released in early January (2010).
They also mentioned that they did intend on bringing SFlow to some other series switches in the future, but it sounded like it would be a while (a year or more).
They must be close (for the 6200), as they have the documentation all prepped, but not linked to the "official" docs yet:

According to this site, the 6200 and 8200 series sFlow now:

It's a good tool, too. I've used that one and Scrutinizer (with Netflow) quite a bit and they both work well.

Hello,
Has anyone heard anything new on this? I still don't see any new firmware for the 6200 series switches. I'm on the latest released FW and there's no sFlow commands available.
Thanks!

Okay, yeah, you're right, it's not available yet. You must be using firmware version 2.2.0.3. It's definitely in the works though. Hopefully it gets released soon. With a major enhancement like this, they usually go from one major version to another, so it'll probably be a 3.0.0.x version of firmware....
