Should I replace my NIC card?
I use a broadband connection with my Dell Inspiron 1100. I think the cable was accidentally pulled and possibly damaged my connector into my computer because it will not stay connected. I was just wondering what it would take to replace it or should I go another route for my broadband connection!
Thanks!

Since the network adapter is integrated on the motherboard, it cannot be easily replaced. If your system is still under warranty, call Dell Tech Support if you want to get it fixed. The only other option is to get a PCMCIA ethernet adapter to insert in the PC card slot on the side of your computer.

For me this has happened with the cable end, where the clip snapped off.
Have you tried swapping ends with the cable. If the cable is the problem, then the "won't stay connected" problem will move to the other device and the cable end will stay connected to the PC.
In that case, it may be only the cable that needs replacing.
