slow browsing
hi
i have a new dell 2400 with a bcm v.92 modem.
i can connect at a good speed, around 53k, but my browsing is very slow, it takes up to 5-10 minutes to find the page and up to half an hour to full open it.
at first my browsing was very fast, i have added no new software or changed anything about my computer.
i have tried 2 isp's so i know it's not an isp problem
any help is much appreciated.

If it helps your browsing speed post back and I'll try to explain why. If not, it doesn't matter.
This init string location is assuming you are using an ISP that uses the built-in Windows dialler, and not an ISP such as AOL that uses their own dialler.

I just got a new 2400 last month, and although I had used cable DSL with the old pentium 1, 166, I thought maybe with this "fast" computer I could get by with the 6 mos free earthlink. I was incredibly slow--normal pages without a lot of graphics taking minutes to load, and very frequently getting hung up/crashing. So I had the Cable connection hooked up again. This is better, to the tune of $40/mo, but Not Perfect!. It's pretty slow, but is not the connection, and I have been suspecting it's a problem with the computer. I still get some pages taking a long time or hanging up, even to the point of having to disconnect to get it going occasionally. It also makes a very audible clicking sound when I'm online (not the modem, again). My biggest complaint is that the CD ROM is horribly loud, to the point that I am wondering if it is defective or not installed right. I have not been impressed with this computer at all--it reminds me of some high-priced garbage computers my former boss got taken with that crashed constantly after our office spent almost a couple of grand apiece. I am going to try to return this computer, but with the shipping and handling charges, you can't win anyway!
Hope that you can solve your problem, but I have a sneaking suspicion...
