Slow connecting to wireless network

Question

Even though it has been like this since I bought my new laptop over a year ago, I am just getting around to asking the question. I have Linksy wireless network with local cable BB service. We have 4 laptops in my home and mine is the only one that takes 15 - 20 minutes to get a connection to our wireless network. The others get immediate connection. Does anyone know if there is a setting that might be causing the delay?   Thanks in advance :)

What model laptop and operating system do you have? Which wireless utility are you using, Dell or Windows?

Hello, I also have the same exact problem with my Dell Inspiron 1720. My boyfriends inspiron 9300 picks up the signal right away and mine take up to 20 minutes to connect. We have a LINKSYS WIRELESS-N Model WRT300.  We have a cox high speed internet connection. Any assistance will be very helpful this is totally frustrating.
