Slow logon on Docked D610

I'm having the exact same problem as Woody's post.  has anyone seen it beside the 2 of us?  And is there a fix for it.  Thanks:

I have several docked D610 laptops which when logging on to our domain take about 3 minutes to load to the desktop after entering the login details. There are no errors during this 3 minute period, just a blank blue screen. Off the docking station these laptops logon in no time, the problem only occurs when on a docking station. In the event log i get the following error:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Dhcp
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date:  03/02/2006
Time:  12:26:53
User:  N/A
Computer: L009935
Description:
Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 545543445200.  The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

My  guess is that the laptop is trying to assign a DHCP address to the wireless card rather than the docking station NIC and then timing out, before assigning an IP address to the docking station NIC. However, in the BIOS i have disabled the wireless card and tried other things but it makes no difference.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix? Thanks

Does your Windows 2003 server (or 2000 server) domain use "Roaming profiles"? We have massive slow-down experiences from that and there is a way for an administrator to clear it up. Just to give you a clue, do NOT put any files or folders ON the desktop. Store them elsewhere (on drive C: or network drive or removable drive) and JUST put shortcut(s) on the desktop. Also, graphics will cause slowdown on our network. I have had people work doing photo scanning and then have a login that takes so long that it "never" completes -- literally tens of minutes. These situations do not involve a dock station.

We are still running NT 4 server.  But to answer your question, there is no roaming profile.  What's weird is that when the system is undock (but with network connection stragiht to the laptop) it boots up normally.  I thought it was a bad docking station so I swapped out 2 brand new ones and problem still occur.  I have also tried the followings:

-took computer off domain and rejoin
-even rename computer name, took off domain, rejoin
-reinstall NIC driver
-recreate profile

I have two D505 LTs using docking stations. As soon as I hooked them up, the users were reporting VERY SLOOOOW startup & logins. We are also logging into an NT4 domain, but ours is sync'd with a Novell Netware 5.1 (NDS) login, as well.

Are there any patches, or hotfixes, available for the port replicators for the D505, that would address this problem? My users really need the port replicators to function well in their environment, but the slow logins pretty much negate the advantage...
