Slow--moving between websites

My system is taking an extremely long time between web pages lately. It seems longer than before.
My system consists of:
Dimension 4300 P4 (1.6GHz) WinXP SP2, 512 Ram, 10/100 Ethernet
V90/56K Modem
SB Live, Micro Office, View Sonic 15" flat, 64 MB Graphics Card, CD/RW

I have a program from my internet provider called "Extreme Dialup" but that doesn't seem to help. Right now I'm getting 44kbps.
Can something be checked on my system?

A lot of that is just the Internet (which can include your ISP).  One thing to do is delete the temporary internet files.  That may help a little.

joangolfing,

To delete temporary internet files, open a browser (internet explorer) and click Tools->Internet Options.  On this page, you can delete temporary internet files and cookies with the click of your mouse.
