small home network-error message

I am running Windows XP Home with all the updates.

1. My small home network (3 computers) quit working. Tried to reinstall it (Several times) in the Host computer and got the message "spooler subsystem encounterd a problem and needs to close". In the Microsoft Knowledge Base I found an article related to certain printer drivers creating this message. I had not changed my installed printers.

2. I "repaired" Win XP using the install CD following Microsoft recommendations. Reinstalled all the updates.

3. I tried again to set up the home network, and again I get the message..(spooler subsystem....etc)

4. I am looking for suggestions or recommendations on how to repair this problem...Help Please!!

Thank you - My e-mail address is:  ekossacoff@earthlink.net

Did some reearch and found that "Spoller Subsystem" is also a name for Client CCApp or Associated with Norton AntiVirus 2003 which works for Auto-protect and E-mail checking facilities.without this both can not function correctly.

It sounds like your NAV is trying to auto update and something is blocking acess. Do you have Zone Alarm installed?
