And one more thing. Is it true that the 3rd computer cannot access the shared folder in 1st and 2nd computer even though the firewall is engaged in the 3rd computer? Although 3 computers were link through a router, only 1st n 2nd computer can shared folders.
Several things can block access to that third machine and XP Pro adds to the complexity. The firewall may be inactive but if your users from #1 & 2 don't have access rights to the 3rd machine's folders, they will be blocked. You will have to enable the guest account or setup user accounts on the 3rd machine that match the users from #1 & #2.
Right Click My Netwrok Connections and Go To Properties>Right Click on the Local Area Connection and Go To Properties>Under the Advanced Tab, Uncheck the Box (if it is Checked) Concerning the Firewall.
The 3rd computer uses computer administrator account but is password protected, which means user need to enter password to enter windows. Does it matter?
Yes I read the previous posting. I still have problem viewing the 3rd computer even though everything is set as u told. However, 3rd computer is password protected during windows login. Does it matter?
