Which version of Windows?  Which version of Internet Explorer?  Does this occur only when visiting a specific web site or anytime you open Internet Explorer?

What is your home page?  It sounds like an error in the coding of the page.

I am using Windows Xp home edition and Internet explorer 6. The message seems to appear only after logging on to my home page

I have discovered the same problem. Most likely it was a bad script or missing page using the .cfm markup. (Cold Fusion)

Was the error message in a gray box with a blue header. And it gave a url like
D://Inetpub/website/.... (this is the URL of the error on the server hosting the site)
