Did you "Share" the printer and grant permission for the HP to use it?

whoops--entered on first step of this string--sorry; i just bought a dimension 8400 running windows xp media edition, have an old hp pavilion that is running windows xp home edition. i have started a wireless network between the two (dimension 8400 hooked up to ethernet directly, pavilion is hooked up with a linksys router and bus interface) i have the wireless configured correctly; have a great internet connection and can read a shared file between the two computers (success--yay!) i need someone to tell me step by step how to establish a link between my pavilion and my printer (which is hooked up to the dimension 8400) so i can print from my wireless computer. my pavilion seems to be reading my printer, but i cannot manage to print from it. keep getting error: no connection with printer. when i open my printer/fax file it shows my printer there and that it is ready.......HELP!

Yes it could be.  You must include the HP into something the firewall sees as a trusted zone or site.
