Studio 1737 Bluetooth Problem

Hi, I have a Studio 1737 2.8Ghz 8gb memory referbished the problem is they decided to do a clean install of Windows 7 32 bit and now the Bluetooth does not work, I know the card is installed as the light comes on the laptop BUT no icon in the bar nor is there any bluetooth in the device manager, If I use a USB Bluetooth toggle it works fine.

I have searched up and down all over the web to find a solution including the Dell website with no luck at all! Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you go about fixing it?

If this has been posted on another thread please point me in the right direction.

I had exact same problem, found the fix.  go here http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=dhs&c=us&l=en&cs=19&k=R197396.exe&cat=sup&x=0&y=0

download this driver...its number is R197396.exe   I think its for winXP, non-the-less  I have the same system as you 1737, and just did a clean install of windows 7 and it took forever to figure this bluetooth out.  Install this broadcom driver, it will put a BT icon down by the clock (it might be hidden, you'll find it) RIGHT click the BT icon and ADD A BLUETOOTH device. If you figured out how to post here...you'll figure it out.  My BT mouse and KB now work perfect, I cant explain the tech data, i just know it worked.

Make sure to re-boot after install of driver before adding BT devices ... let me know if it work !!!

Who did you buy the laptop from

I ask, because they should've made sure all the drivers were installed, and all components were working, before sending it to you - or before you picked it up, if you bought it in a store :emotion-43:

I assume that included the Studio 1737 'Drivers & Downloads' page?

The bluetooth drivers are listed in the 'Network' category :emotion-55:

There are Windows 7 64bit drivers available, but I'd suggest trying the Vista 32bit drivers first, because the respective Vista drivers (32bit/64bit) have worked for many of us, when Windows 7 didn't install default drivers, and there are none offered on the Dell website.

I bought my Laptop from Dell, with Vista 64bit on (the BT worked great when I got the laptop), I changed it to windows 7, and thus began the BT driver mission
