Boot into the bios and make sure the wireless is enabled.
Also did you load Quickset to enable the touch keys on the front of the laptop? If not it may have turned off the wireless adapter and 7 does not know it exists.
Wireless on win 7 will work on this model as I am running it now on my 1640.
