system slow down
My Inspiron 6000 came with a wireless card in it and when I turned it on and loaded everything and got on the network (thru a Bilken router) once I was on line things started to slow down. I moved to an area where I had a low signal and things sped back up. Not full blast but faster then before. When I would move the computer to an area where the signal was good to excellant it would slow down again. It slowed down to a point that I could not get online at all and had to completely restore my system to the factory settings at time of purchase. This only worked twice then it would not do a thing for the problem.
Any ideas? Keep it simple as I am not the computer litetate.
Thanks,
Phil

Do you have any sources of interference in the area. Things like 2.4 Ghz cordless phones and microwave ovens can operate on the same 2.4 Ghz frequency as the wireless cord. If you have such possible interference, try changing the channel on the router so that it uses one of the extreme channels (1 or 11).

HPs use the same wireless technology as Dells, so the same problem will exist. Furthermore, HP's tech support is no better or worse than than Dell's and they don't have a user to user forum like this one. You need to educate yourself about what is and is not a manufacturer specific problem before you go around blaming someone. Good luck.
