"System Standby Failed"
Brand new Inspiron E1705 with XP MCE. It won't go into Standby or Hibernate mode. I get this error message:
The device driver for the 'Conexant HDA D110 MDC V.92 Modem' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.
I have downloaded and installed the driver twice from Dell website without resolution. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hello Sando182,
Welcome to the Dell Community Forum,
This error is normally caused by Quicken or Adobe products.. If you have any of these programs installed search for updates to resolve. Hope that this helps you.
Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response. It's clear to me that Dell cares about customer support.

Is it really necessary to REMOVE Quicken to solve this problem? I just finally got it all set and working great! Using Quicken Deluxe 2004.

I'm a new Inspiron owner having the same "standby" issues with Conexant modem driver & yours was the most recent post of MANY with the same problem. The advice you got as to a Quicken or Adobe conflict was a very broad swath. I have Quicken 2000 which I have no plans for upgrading (don't need more) & of course, a multitude of Adobe products. So my question to you is: Have you been able to home in on anything more specific?
Thanx ............... fritz

Tx for your answer - uninstalling Quicken 2000 pro resolved my "standby" problem too.
