Is the Dell Network Assistant running from startup?  If so, go to msconfig and disable it from running from startup or, better yet, go to Control Panel Add/Remove programs and get rid of this buggy software.

yeah i checked and its not in there. I did a search on the computer though and it shows it on here. It doesnt show up on the add remove programs and it doesnt show up under msconfig. So maybe its not installed?

Did you check the msconfig startup tab where it would be listed as Dell Network Assistant.

Which wireless network adapter do you have?  Are you using the adapter's utility to control the wireless network or are you using Windows to control the network?

Before i did the update off the dells website the thing was loaded when windows booted. But now windows boots up..then about a minute later maybe longer the network thing finaly pops up and logs onto the network.
