Please post the full and exact text of the error message. You might also try downloading and running winsockfix for Windows XP from the Here.

I am not sure whether the fix has actually worked. I still get the Win32 general message
I have looked on the help and I think the error I received was the following.
Error Message: TCP/IP CP Reported Error 733: the PPP Control Protocol for This Network Protocol Is Not Available on the Server
May 10th, 2006 18:00
Error 733 conveys the message stating that : The PPP control protocol for this network protocol is not available on the server. Thus if the issue has mainly to do with your PC's Tcp/Ip stack which you would require to get checked and reinstalled.
