TCP/IP Protocol Driver for Inspiron N5030
I have been advised to download the above driver for my Dell Laptop as I have a red X on my Network/Internet Icon in the bottom right-hand system tray. Can anyone help me as to where I can find this on the Dell site and also how I go about downloading it.
I can still get on the internet even though I have this red X showing.
I would be grateful of any help as this has been a problem for some time now, and since this has happened my computer crashes and doesn't shut down properly now.

Maureen,
I see a valid IP address. Go to
Start, control panel, network and sharing center, click on your connection, properties, Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.
Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. Under Network, download and install the latest drivers.
Try these tweaks....
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your network adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.
