Thanks & Security Settings For Router?

Question

Hi,
Thanks to the help I received here I was able to finally get my router hooked up right today. All is now working fine.

Now im wondering how to set the security settings on the Net Gear router so that my pc and the wireless laptop can only access it. I have a dell 8200 series PC and the laptop is an Inspiron. How can you set it so both will have access?

Hi Steve, Thank you very much for the information.  I tried to get it from Netgears site but the documentation on the router I have would not load.   You have been very helpful. Thanks again. Jill

Note that you only have to enable security on computers that are connecting by wireless to the router. Although the following articles are not sepecific to Netgear routers, the instructions that came with the Netgear router are pretty easy to follow as I recall. See the following and if you have more questions post back. Note that these sites assume that you are running Windows XP on all computers that will connect by wireless.
