digibson1,

The default gateway is located on your router. Possibly on the bottom of it. Click the link below and look at the section for the Operating System you have installed and follow the instructions for resolving the issue you are having with the network.

No it isn’t that. I went through it and set it all up per your instructions and it is still doing it. We have two other computers that are on wi-fi and they don’t lose connection. It is the wi-fi adapter on this laptop.

Any other suggestions? I updated the driver from Dell already. Also it says "The default gateway is not available". not invalided as I had previously stated. I'm constantly having to do a diagnosis on it.

Solved this for two computers. My M1530 was fixed by going to the Advanced Properties in the Device Manager and disabled the "n" mode. A newer Dell was fixed by setting the DNS server addresses to Open DNS values in the WiFi settings found in Network & Sharing: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

I tried this as well to no avail. It is still losing connection. It says it is connected, but it isn't.

I believe this network card is junk. I have been reading literally hundreds of reviews and the same thing is happening to others.

Dell should either replace my computer or put a new wi-fi card in.

I need to know how to go about getting this taken care of. I have to be able to access the internet without having to do a repair on my device driver every 2 to 3 minutes.

Also I do not have a "n" mode listed in my Device Manager.

I need some answers! Did we just pay $800.00 for junk? I bought this at Best Buy and it should have been returned with in 2 weeks of purchase, but I kept thinking it was something with my router. It isn't though. It's the network card on this laptop. I have found several complaints on the internet about it. People are buying new network cards and installing them.

So what is Dell going to do to fix the problem? I shouldn't have to pay to have it repaired. It's a brand new laptop.

I'm very discussed over this.
