"Time Out" on Internet connection

I was downloading a large application and after approximately every 15 minutes I received the message “Time Out” on Internet connection which then disconnected. Please advise why this happened and how to prevent it.

Please attach a .txt file of your System Specs, and go into more detail with your problem.

If you're unsure how to attain your Specs, just do the following:

Click start > run > dxdiag

Then hit enter. If you get a popup about WHQL just click no. Then, let DxDiag load completely, represented by the green loading bar, and when it's done, click "Save All Information" Located near the bottom right area. Save your file as a DxDiag.txt on your desktop and then attach it to a post so I further help you.

You should explain a little more--such as type of connection--must be slow since it's taking over 15 minutes, model computer and operating system. This is usually due to inactivity during the download. Your provider thinks you are not using the computer and disconnects. Browse using a different window during the download or play a game of solitaire or another card card while the download is active. You can just move the mouse every few minutes, too. Just keep using the computer to keep the connection active.
